The SharkTank - Years of Lessons boiled down in 60 min for the Inventor and Entrepreneur

Has anyone seen the Shark Tank show on ABC? Awesome show! Intriguing blend of entrepreneurs and angel investors all chomping at the bit for power. A must watch on sun night or grab it on hulu.com !

I love this show, not so much for the entertainment value, which of course is cool, but for the lessons it provides. It gives you a quick and clear understanding into the minds of the angel investor and the typical entrepreneur. Both of them are pretty much a legend inside of their own mind, and since they are often on both ends of the spectrum, they must meet somewhere in the middle to do business.

Being the entrepreneur, I always forget why the angel investors always want more then 50%. But lets face it, they know how to conduct business and know the perils of business and letting the entrepreneur make the decisions without experience often is perilous. Watching the quick negotiations go on for millions of dollars of cash, equity and intellectual property as if it were loose change in ones pocket is amazing. It gives you real insight to the way business is done in this world.

So far the entrepreneurs have been strong, and haven't taken every offer that is available on the table, knowing there is more then just money. Integrity and personal philosophies are paramount and are often lost in capitalism. I am sure in the back of their mind, just being on the show is worth millions in advertising, so its likely they will be set even without the money offers. So guess who wins in the end? Hopefully the entrepreneur.

Look for many years of episodes with this show, and hopefully it becomes a clearinghouse and breeding ground for small business and the inspiring entrepreneur, solving vital niche and every-day problems typically way before government and big business.

Chalk one up for the small guy with this platform and show! :) Inspiring to say the least, and a valuable lesson for many of us who plan on owning their own business one day.

From one inventor to many others out there.. Keep inventing, but keep it real and remember to focus, you can't do it all. Don't be afraid to ask for help, get a mentor, and leaving tons of money for marketing, that's a business in of itself. Hence is why I created an internet marketing niche product called The JumpStarter - do it yourself SEO internet marketing. Hope that helps.

Happy Inventing, keep watching that show. If you miss it, go to Hulu.

The Irony of Big Business - What are we all Working SO hard for?

I have posted a great video on my facebook account, if you want to tie in a face with a website, nows your chance!! Check out this great "lesson on life video". It just goes to show you how life can really come back FULL circle.

"The Good Life" takes you to a chance meeting between an MBA and a fisherman on a small island. As the MBA tries to teach the fisherman about business, the fisherman teaches him about life.

This VIdeo is the Essence of why we need to focus more on self-help and self-reliance. In today's age I think we have tipped the scales and have become to a little to dependent and too intertwined. Too Disconnected, equals an out of Balance that we can't see until its too late many times.

Please check it out and become a FAN!

Guys, our freedom is at stake. Our very thread of existence regarding what we say is at stake. Have exrpessed you anger or disatisfaction you ever said, "that guy needs to die or be killed?" Of course you have, well what if you were put in jail for saying it?? YOU WOULD BE LIVID.

So, it happened to Hal Turner, and it is an atroscity. I may not agree with everything he said, but the governement is scared, and they over overreaching their powers. Its that simple. There was not an "Imminent" danger which protects people in the vicinity. He put up the judges address for extra effect, now he's in jail. We all no how to google and find someone at work, if they let this fall under "imminent" its all over folks. Your wire tapped phone calls will get you in jail one day.

PLEASE step up and Donate below for everyone in the country who has a voice, this really matters and may go to the supreme court. Your Freedom of Speech and your children's depend on it.

Read the representing attorney's article.

Mutual Fund Fiasco! ...Are you the 1 out of 11,585?

Wow, all those people that had millions in mutual funds this year, ALL, I repeat all but ONE lost money with negative returns. See the article. That's right, out of 11,585, only 1 made a positive return! While I know its been a bad year, there had to be more than 1 person who saw this coming! Ouch, talk about a lack of foresight. Actually, they comment about my leader board positive returns in this article which is nice.

When you strip it all down, this is a classic case of resting on your laurels and becoming complacent. Forgetting to study history, and just using what happened the last few months as the precedence. All those fancy lunches, slick brochures, decadent offices, and hot secretaries didn't make a bit of difference when picking your fund manager. See, nothing is too big to fail. And this is a classic example of how following the "herd" can be detrimental to your health. It goes to show you that you can lose 10 years of gains, in just one year. Don't think of it as a problem in just in financial markets, but such a devastation can happen to your health, your house, or more abstractly, your mental state. Things compound, and reach a tipping point, often a cliff, so the way down is often a free-fall. Please watch for the warning signs, signs that I will try to give you on my blog.

Believe it or not, they make mention of me in this article, and my stock returns are very positive in this bear market. I happen to be shortseller. One of the reasons I bring this up is to show you that I put my money where my mouth is. I am just not some bear who talks about doom and gloom, just for fun and profit. Not because I am negative or cynical, but because I am a realist. A "watch out for what the herd's doing" prudent individual. So, just to develop some credibility, I am posting my gains on my blog.

I am not looking for praise or status, this is to let you know I am more then just an alternative health "granola" as some they call us. :) I'll let the returns speak for themselves, and they are realized, I sold everything on Nov. 20th. It took probably 1000's hours of studying and research, but I have done it. :)

So, if you want to stay abreast of my musings, enter your email address in the box to the right. ;0 Good luck in this volatile market. Not trying to scare you, but I hope you are ready for the Great Depression II. Try not to get too down, this is a time for renewal and to get back to the fundamentals of what life is all about. Now that you look back, didn't things quite a bit excessive? And we all know what happens when you get to much fat! All kinds of diseases bubble up!! No pun intended. ;) Little Recession humor anyone?

Ways to End Poverty

With an overwhelming action by the guys at blogactionday.org, bloggers all around the world have decided to write on how to end poverty. In my opinion it has to come from two directions. From the top down and from the bottom up.

First everyone is partly responsible for this mess. It mainly stems from the lack of motivation, greed, and unfortunate circumstances. The greedy take from the many, the poor lack the motivation many times to make their situation better. While there are many poor who desperately are trying to make their situation better, their circumstances gives them no breaks. This is where we need to focus.

While in the first 2 areas its all about morality, I can't change that without many days of nurturing and lessons, which is phase II. Phase I is helping with immediate needs at places like Atlanta's Union Mission and giving to "legitimate" charities that don't pay their principles millions like the United Way. Give to the Salvation Army and find the smaller outfits and we all can make a difference, piece by piece. As a whole we can end poverty.

Work and Kitesurfing

Well, its my second day writing a blog, and I think I am going to like it. Its amazing to think that I always thought it would take hours to think and write a blog, but in reality it doesn't. Since most of these thoughts come to my mind during the day, you might as well write about them, right?

So, today, I realized that web design, my current job. Actually, my company, but feels like a job because your clients call screaming some times. Its hard sometimes, because the client expects you to think of everthing, just because they are paying you. They expect, you to be the customer and the developer. Well thats hard, its like being right and left brain at the same time!! NO WAY!!! Geez. Anyway, with that said, I have a lot of irons in the fire, additional projects from alternative energy, to selling things I like, to a killer patent.

So, since I am in the Outer banks on an alternative energy project, I had the chance to kitesurf today, 1/2 the reason I am here. It amazes me the power of the wind and water, and how insignifcant we are. The wind or water isn't going to stop for you. We think everthing in the world will, but its you and nature. You must respect it, take your time. You can't rush or manipulate the inputs or your environment, like those people, friends and business sales in the real world. The pull of the kite is so amazon, refreshing and exhilirating... Now if one could only harness the kites power and turn it into energy!! .. Hmmmm. wink More on that later.

But I am removed from society, which is good and bad. All in all, its an time of growth and reflection. Shall be an interesting trip.

Welcome

Welcome to TheHealthySurvivor Blog!!!. Our mission is to inform you about staying healthy and surviving in these unprecedented times of economic instability, infiltrating diseases, toxic food chemicals, and politically unstable times. Don't worry this won't be a negative type blog, we are very positive people, but we are realistic on what environment we live around us. If we are to change, we need to inform first. You can't change, without a roadmap of choices. Let us be the roadmap.

While many of you think that things are quite rosy, if you really look under the hood, they are not. How many times have we heard about x,y, and z being exposed or sued, because of things they had been doing maliciously for years? Well, that's just the stuff you hear about, think about all the stuff that has yet to come to light, or really has come to light, but just hasn't reached main stream media. Lets face it, there are thousands of powers to be that know that informing you will cost them money. I know, I know, people are usually honest people. Well guess what, your right. But, for example lets say you live in the 50's and all houses were made of bricks. What if you owned a brick laying company and you found out it was cheaper to make houses with wood. Would you tell everyone about it if it basically would kill your income and ruin your way of life because your factory can't switch to manufacturing wood? Of course you wouldn't. Don't you think this reasoning applies to thousands of companies?

Along those lines, if Edison's original light bulb still burns today, yet light bulbs break every day, doesn't that tell you something? Things are made to break.

Bottom line its all about the money. Follow the money trail, and you know the motivation.

Follow us on our journey to inform. Join us in responding in kind. Community is the key.

1st post every, I think I like it.

Later
Sean
