Healing and Disease Crisis

When you first start using herbal and alternative remedies to treat a chronic or severe condition, you may find yourself going through what is known as a healing crisis. As your body starts ridding itself of the various toxins and built up waste that's been in your system for a great number of years, it will need time to adjust to those changes. And once the body realizes you're finally starting to help it clean some really bad stuff out, it may accellerate that process, and this can lead you to think things are getting worse when they're actually getting better.

Glycemic Index Food Tips 2

Once you start using the glycemic index to help control your diabetes and blood sugar levels naturally, you'll start learning which foods tend to be the best choices for your personal body response. There are several commonalities with many foods though, which can help you get started with using the Glycemic Index.

1. High fiber foods. Foods high in soluble fiber tend to naturally be lower on the glycemic index. This is because fiber isn't absorbed by our body, and eating foods with fiber in it will help slow the absorption of simple carbohydrates, sugars and starches. This is very helpful to know if you have a few favorite foods which have high GI ratings. By adding some fiber to the meal, you can help reduce the overall impact that higher GI food will have on your blood sugar levels.

Ginger

Ginger is not commonly known as a medicinal herb. In fact, most people think ginger is used only for cooking and flavoring candies or drinks. Ginger is actually an excellent herb to use for a variety of illnesses and general maladies though.

Ginger grows as a perennial plant, and most people think the roots of this plant are what's used for seasoning and herbal medicine, when in reality that's not quite the case. The area of the plant which grows below ground before the root is known as the rhizome, and this is the part of the Ginger plant which is used.

Berkey Water Filter Review

I have had the pleasure of using a Royal Berkey water filter for the past few months. Man do I love it!! I spent a while looking at water filters in the past, but to tell you the truth, there are a lot of misconceptions and inferior products out there.

To make matters worse, few of us stay in one location for more then a few years. Seemed like I was always caught in a hard spot, between not wanting to buy a cheap filter for the sink, to not wanting to go all out and spend the money on a full system for the house. And then I thought about portable, and I am glad I did. I know I can take this when I leave, which is good. Also, I don't have to worry about installation.

While there a lot of good filters out there for the house, this was a logical step. It has a great shine to it, and it seems like your pouring a fresh glass every time. What sold me the most was the ability for it to get out the Fluoride from their additional filter, that is about impossible to find in ANY portable filter.

The only drawbacks are the fact that you have to clean it, and that you always forget to add more water before its to late. If I were to suggest anything to the company it would be to lower the spigot to the absolute lowest point, I am tired of leaning it to get the last bit out. :0

The taste is great, I don't taste any chlorine what so ever. When I get a chance, I will test the water contaminants in a future review.

THank you Berkey. Water is our best resource, and 70% of body, so don't put junk in your body. Your TAXING you body to an unbelievable amount, when it has to remove impurities on its own. That poor liver!! Best of luck to you.

Healing With Food

Another critical aspect of naturally healing yourself of a variety of health related diseases and problems is to change how you eat. A modern day Western style diet is filled with junk. Not just in the form of empty calories - although there is plenty of that too - but the foods we choose to eat are filled with preservatives, chemicals, hormones, drugs, and any number of things that affect the human body.

Dogs and Exercise

Like humans, dogs need regular exercise to stay healthy. It's critical to keep them living in fact, because dog's bodies are made up of almost pure muscle. Even dogs who have extra fat on them have a base body mass of muscle. And this muscle requires exercise to maintain full health.

When humans are in excellent physical shape, and they have lots of strong, toned muscle mass, their bodies burn fat at much faster rates. This is because the body needs more energy to maintain muscles, so it burns many more calories with that energy expenditure, and usually the energy burned is in the form of fat.

Athlete's feet

Besides the mouth and intestinal tract, another very common place humans tend to have problems with candida yeast overgrowth is on their feet. Athlete's feet is a fungus related infection that is caused by the same candida yeast bacteria that causes vaginal yeast infections, oral thrush, and a variety of intestinal tract problems among other things. Since candida yeast bacteria thrive in warm, moist, dark environments, the feet fit the bill because most people wear tight fitting shoes for hours on end every single day.

Herbal Remedies for Cancer

Thousands of individuals seek herbal therapy for the treatment of their cancer. There are numerous reasons for this, but the primary reason is that conventional medicine has failed to lived up to its expectations of curing cancer. Conventional medical therapy is not only expensive but also associated with serious side effects and in many cases is still considered experimental.

The one reason why herbal therapy is criticized is because it sometimes lacks scientific data to demonstrate effectiveness. But that does not mean that herbs are not effective. In fact, numerous cancer drugs that are actively used in the treatment of numerous cancers have been derived from plants. The most popular herbs used in cancer treatment are mentioned below.

How your body reacts to your environment

Listening to your body takes a bit of practice and learning. In the beginning you may mistakenly interpret what your body is trying to tell you, and you may miss many things too. One of the areas your body sends you signals about though, is a little harder to interpret than others. Once you've gotten more adept at listening to and responding to your body however, knowing when it's sending you messages about your environment will start becomming easier.
